Announcing the Palestine Portal!

It’s Day 2. Today marks the second of six days of war fifty years ago which resulted in Israel occupying the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza Strip.

USCPR is #Marking50 with 6 Action Alerts for these 6 Days. Yesterday, on Day 1, we urged you to ask your Members of Congress to attend a Capitol Hill briefing #Marking50 happening Thursday.

These online actions complement more than 50 bold actions playing out nationwide this week. So far, we’ve seen beautiful disruptions of a Celebrate Israel parade, challenges to the U.S.-Israeli police #deadlyexchange, billboards, rallies, teach-ins, congressional meetings, and more!

Look out for one action alert each day this week so you can join your voice with others far and wide saying: ENOUGH!

ACTION 2 on DAY 2:

We are excited to help announce a tremendous resource created by member group Kairos USA: is a hub for the rapidly growing network of church groups working for Palestinian rights in partnership with many others. This is an organizing tool, an educational resource, a news outlet, and a community meeting place, all on one website!

Palestine Portal is a resource for all, but it is only as effective as we make it. Please:

  1. Use it! Check out Mapping the Movement, campaigns and action alerts, educational and advocacy resources, a place for newcomers to learn and plug in, and more!
  2. Do you have an organization, activity, or campaign not listed? Contact Palestine Portal!
  3. Spread the word! Share this email with others. Tweet to announce, or retweet the portal’s tweets.
  4. On Facebook, “Like” Palestine Portal’s page and share the launch announcement to your own page, asking your followers to Like the portal too.

USCPR has long worked to strengthen church activism and we’ve helped support this project from its inception in 2015. We hope you’ll use and lift it up too, as part of #Marking50 years of occupation this week:

P.S. Don’t miss other great new resources hot off the press #Marking50, including:
  • This “Resist! 50 Years of Occupation: Enough!” gorgeous poster from Friends of Sabeel – North America, available for free download
  • This History of Occupation infographic from Visualizing Palestine illustrating the ongoing colonization of Palestine
  • The first of a series of videos by the Institute for Middle East Understanding #Marking50, telling the story of Fadwa Khalil

You can find all those and more on the Week of Action hub.
