Show the Democratic Platform Committee You Support Palestinian Rights

Last week, the Democratic Party’s platform drafting committee met in St. Louis to vote on a draft platform, and Palestine solidarity activists turned out in force to urge the committee to support Palestinian rights.

The committee debated an amendment calling for “an end to [Israeli] occupation and illegal settlements so that they [Palestinians] may live in independence, sovereignty, and dignity.”

Unfortunately the committee voted against the amendment, 8-5. Watch this video and read this article by Rania Khalek in Electronic Intifada for more details.

But all is not lost because the amendment will be debated and voted on again in front of the Democratic Party’s full platform committee in Orlando, July 8-9 and we have an opportunity to win this vote!

Can you attend this important public meeting and show the Democratic Party how much grassroots support exists for Palestinian rights?

The event is free and open to the public, but you should RSVP here. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Bring your kuffiyeh and Palestine solidarity t-shirt to the meeting to show the Democratic Party that voters like you support Palestinian rights and we’ll supply the signs, buttons and stickers below.
