#STOPARMINGISRAEL & FUND OUR COMMUNITIES

In April, USCPR launched a new long-term campaign, “Palestine Will Be Free: #StopArmingIsrael & Fund Our Communities,” to end U.S. military funding to Israel once and for all. To kick off this campaign, activists organized by USCPR planned Tax Day actions in 31 cities from Seattle to DC to protest U.S. military funding to Israel.

We also upgraded our U.S. Military Funding to Israel Map, providing activists and educators the latest information on the true cost of U.S. complicity in Israeli apartheid. And we called on supporters to demand an end to U.S. military funding to Israel. In just six months, nearly 6,000 people have used the map and 3,700+ people have written their representatives. That’s a great start—and with your support we can mobilize tens of thousands more to take action. With you, we’re going to keep fighting until Palestine is free.

SEEDING THE GRASSROOTS

Activists gather for a Nakba 75 action hosted by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) in
Ann Arbor, MI.

With our connections to activists and advocates throughout the U.S., we hear all the time about critical local organizing initiatives that are advancing Palestinian rights in cities and towns across the country. And we also hear how hard it can be to resource these campaigns.

Enter USCPR’s “Grassroots Support Hub,” a new USCPR fund and organizing support network to kickstart local campaigns—or take them to the next level. In our rollout this past spring, your commitment to Palestinian rights helped support protests and community events in 12 cities across the country in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Nakba.

First-time funding from USCPR’s newly launched Grassroots Support Hub allowed local organizations to print posters, host sign-making parties, wheatpaste flyers, acquire audio equipment for rallies, print political education pamphlets, and much more. We’re already getting requests for new opportunities to support cutting-edge local organizing for Palestine.

Since 2020, dedicated supporters like you have equipped 29 USCPR Youth Fellows with the resources to lead campaigns for Palestinian rights in their local communities. Because of you, USCPR Youth Fellows are making a difference across the country.

Nidaa, a USCPR Youth Fellow and member of Students for Justice in Palestine, co-led a historic #DivestFromDeath campaign at the University of Texas in Dallas. After 700+ UT Dallas students and 19 student organizations signed SJP’s call to #DivestFromDeath, the Student Government heeded their demand in April 2023 by voting in favor of passing their historic anti-militarism resolution.

And in July, the Clifton City Council in New Jersey unanimously rescinded a resolution to adopt the IHRA’s definition of antisemitism. Munna, a USCPR Youth Fellow and Advocacy and Marketing Intern at the Palestinian American Community Center (PACC) in New Jersey, played a critical role in this win by building PACC’s first-ever grassroots organizing team.
