Christiane Assefa is an organizer, researcher, writer, and student based in San Diego, CA. As an organizer, Assefa’s work centralizes on power research trainings and the intersections of police brutality, gender, and bodily autonomy. Assefa is a PhD student of Ethnic Studies at UCSD where she writes about the way Western Militarism and foreign policy has destabilized East Africa, creating the predicament of refugeehood.
