USCPR Statement on the Council for the National Interest

The US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) has become aware of and unequivocally condemns the September 19, 2017 article by Philip Giraldi in The Unz Review. The author utilizes antisemitic tropes in the piece, an act which is in direct contradiction of USCPR’s anti-racism principles.

The antisemitism expressed in Giraldi’s article in no way reflect the views of USCPR, which is dedicated to the principles of anti-racism, including opposition to antisemitism. Our Common Principles state that USCPR and its coalition members:

“Stand opposed to Islamophobia, antisemitism, all forms of racism, and any other expressions of bigotry directed at any person or group. We also reject the charge of antisemitism when it is used spuriously to silence legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies and practices.”

Among his various affiliations, Giraldi directs the Council for the National Interest (CNI), one of over 330 member groups of the USCPR coalition, and is therefore bound by the Coalition Rules and Regulations. As such, CNI is responsible for upholding the Common Principles, including the aforementioned principle on antisemitism. As a result of this violation of the Common Principles, CNI is no longer a member of the USCPR coalition.
