Kansas City: Nakba

May 15, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

Tuesday , May 15, we will be holding a demonstration near the fountain at J.C. Nichols Fountain to protest the anniversary of Nakba, a day which marks a massive expulsion and mass murdering of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who were not only forcibly removed from their homes, but who also lost their rights to their lands, possessions, and for many, their lives. Since May 15, 1948, these atrocities have not only been exacerbated by the Israeli forces, but have worsened on daily basis while Palestinians are still refused their right to return to homes and properties.

May 15, 2018 will be the 70th Anniversary of the ethnic cleansing and massive displacement of Palestinians by Israeli forces.

In addition to the Nakba 70th Anniversary, the recent US announcement to move its embassy to Jerusalem on May 14 is a direct and unacceptable move that is an offense to both the rights of Palestinians and their capital.

All who support Palestinian rights and human rights as a whole are asked to come join us as we voice our opposition to the apartheid regime of Israel and the occupation of Palestine.
