Boycott Chevron’s Complicity In Israel’s Crimes

Chevron Funds Israel’s Crimes.

Chevron funneled over $462 million in tax revenue to Israeli government coffers through the acquisition of Noble Energy, an Israeli gas extraction company. That money helps fuel the bombardment of 92% of homes in Gaza and the violent displacement of Palestinians.

Chevron Powers Israel.

Chevron gas fuels nearly 50% of Israel’s electricity grid, which includes Israeli military bases, prisons, and settlements. Chevron’s gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea play a key role in keeping Israel’s genocide machine running. 

Chevron’s Harm Is Global.

Chevron has a long history of harming people and the planet from Ecuador to Richmond, CA.

The intensity of escalating climate collapse around the world is connected to rising fossil fuel emissions. The LA fires have burned over 12,000 homes to the ground, including razing the majority Black and people of color community of Altadena to the ground.

This Strategy Has Ended Apartheid Before.

The #BoycottChevron campaign follows in the footsteps of the anti-apartheid gas station boycotts against Shell, a campaign that impacted Shell’s share of the UK gas market and advanced major divestment wins that catalyzed the end of South African apartheid. 

When we unite Palestinian rights advocates with climate justice organizers and Indigenous communities fighting Chevron’s extractive violence, we become unstoppable. 

Israel’s Economy Is Collapsing

Chevron has only been invested in the Israeli market since October 2020 when it acquired Noble Energy. New York Times reported that the Israeli assault on Gaza “could potentially slow the pace of investment in gas fields in the region,” so the investment is potentially financially precarious and reversible.

Chevron has hundreds of locations across the country, and we can use our power to pressure Chevron to end their complicity in human rights abuses through both boycott and divestment.

Everyone knows that Chevron is one of the world’s biggest climate criminals, but the oil giant is also fueling Israel’s genocide in Palestine.”

• The Ask: Ask franchise owners to sign a letter demanding that Chevron end its business in apartheid Israel. After making the ask, address non-response or a ‘no’ with stickering, flyering, picketing consumers of the store to gain leverage until the franchise owner signs the letter.
