How Many Weapons to Israel?

From 2009 to 2018, the United States is scheduled to give Israel $30 billion of weapons. Find out how much money your community will be providing and what that money could be used for instead on our sister web site:

While there, you can also get involved in our campaign to end military aid to Israel.
In 2011, the average taxpayer will give Israel $21.59 in weapons. "Offset" those taxes by making a tax-deductible contribution to the sponsor of these websites, the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation:

From fiscal year 2000 to 2009, the United States appropriated to Israel $24.099 billion in Foreign Military Financing (FMF), the official budgetary term for military aid.

With this taxpayer money, the United States licensed, paid for, and delivered more than 670,903,390 weapons and related equipment to Israel, valued at $18.866 billion through three major weapons transfer programs during this same period.

Learn more below about the quantity, value and types of weapons licensed and delivered to Israel by the United States through these programs by clicking below on "Foreign Military Sales," "Direct Commercial Sales," and "Excess Defense Articles."

During these same calendar years, Israel killed at least 2,969 Palestinians who took no part in hostilities, through its illegal military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip.  Click below on "Palestinian Fatalities" to learn more about the specific weapons Israel misused to kill these Palestinians.

Data in the spreadsheets and slide shows on the pages below were compiled from statistics on the web sites of B'Tselem (Palestinian fatalities) and the Federation of American Scientists (weapons transfers). Our thanks go to these organizations for making the information available.

Policy Paper
"U.S. Military Aid to Israel: Policy Implications & Options" establishes the legal, political, economic, strategic and human rights rationale for ending $30 billion of U.S. taxpayer-financed weapons transfers to Israel from 2009 to 2018. It was published by Josh Ruebner, National Advocacy Director, in March 2012.
