Corporate Announcements
- Dec. 13, 2024 — After years of local pressure, linen retailer brooklinen discloses that it moved all production out of Israel in 2023.
- Dec. 2, 2024 — Ben & Jerry’s sues its parent company, Unilever, for silencing its support for Palestine and threatening to sue board members over the issue.
- Nov. 12, 2024 — 7-Eleven departs Israel, closing all eight of its stores.
- Oct. 31, 2024 — Barclays bank has divested from the weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems after activist pressure. Keep boycotting Barclays until it meets all demands.
- Oct. 29, 2024 — McDonald’s global sales saw its largest decline in four years, dropping 1.5% between July and September alone, citing BDS pressure as the reason.
- Oct. 11, 2024 — BDS target Chevron has halted expansion of an Israeli-claimed gas field in the Mediterranean. This is the time to drive even more pressure on Chevron to cancel this project and cut all contracts with apartheid Israel.
- Aug. 30, 2024 — Elbit-owned KMC Systems abandons its Cambridge, MA office mid-lease after months of weekly protests.
- Aug. 21, 2024 — French insurance giant, AXA, has divested its remaining $20 million from Israeli banks.
- Aug. 14, 2024 — Scotiabank halves its March 2023 investment in Elbit Systems. Keep pressuring until Scotiabank completely divests!
- August 8, 2024 — The UK’s largest private pension fund, USS, divests over $100 million in Israeli assets.
- June 19, 2024 — Intel halts a $25 billion factory project in Israel. The boycott on Intel remains so long as Intel remains complicit.
- June 14, 2024 — A survey of 15,000 consumers across 15 countries found that 1 in 3 people are boycotting in solidarity with Palestine.
- June 2, 2024 — Pret a Manger announces it will no longer open 40 branches in Israel after learning it would become a BDS target.
- June 1, 2024 — The security company that trains the Israeli occupation forces, G4S, has divested all business from apartheid Israel due to “reputational damage.”
- April 10, 2024 — Samsung Next announces it’s withdrawing from Israel and the 70 start-ups its invested in to-date.
- July 21, 2021 — Ben & Jerry’s announces their decision to stop selling ice cream in illegal Israeli Jewish-only settlements on stolen Palestinian land. Read the joint statement from our organizations, “Where We Stand on Ben & Jerry’s.”
- Dec. 2, 2016 — Following years of BDS campaigns, G4S ends most illegal business in Israel, sells most Israel business
- March 9, 2016 — G4S announces plans to leave Israel

Academic Boycott
- Dec. 31, 2024 — Yale students vote by 76% in favor of divestment of the university’s $41B endowment from military weapons manufacturers, and reinvestment in Palestinian studies.
- Sept. 2, 2024 — The American Sociological Association votes to divest from weapons companies.
- Aug. 12, 2024 — The International Federation of Medical Student Associations (IFMSA) suspends Israel for two years over “lack of morals and humanitarian values.”
- April 15, 2024 – Pitzer College becomes first U.S. university to vote for a full institutional academic boycott of Israeli universities. Unfortunately, Pitzer College President Thacker vetoed the People’s decision.
- July 31, 2024 — Israeli universities admit a 60% decline in international PhD and postdoc student enrollment due to BDS pressure.
- July 24, 2023 – Following the Association of Black Anthropologists’ endorsement, the American Anthropological Association becomes the largest academic association to boycott Israeli academic institutions.
- March 23, 2022 – Middle East Studies Association (MESA) passes BDS resolution – National
- March 11, 2022 – Georgetown University students block $30,000 in student funding toward an iTrek propaganda trip to apartheid Israel.

Campus

- Sept. 15, 2024 – Genocide profiteer Lockheed Martin will no longer fund MIT “seed programs” for faculty collaborations and student experiences with Israel, but MIT remains an active partner with Lockheed Martin in other ways.
- August 2024 – In a significant BDS student organizing win, San Francisco State University divests from Lockheed Martin, Palantir Technologies, Leonardo, and Caterpillar after 3-week student solidarity encampment
- Spring 2024 – The global student intifada uprising established solidarity encampments at about 150 college campuses. Despite police and Zionist brutality and cruel repression, students have remained undeterred, unafraid, and focused on materially divesting support for the genocide on Gaza. These brave students carry on the legacy of the 1980s student divestment movement against apartheid in South Africa. In Spring 2024 alone, students of conscience were victorious at:
- Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif. became the first U.S. institution to end its study abroad program in Israel. Former USCPR youth fellow, Anna, played an instrumental role in the student organizing for this BDS win.
- University of California Davis students led a historic divestment win from all BDS targets complicit in genocide.
- Evergreen State College, alma mater of martyr Rachel Corrie, agreed to work toward divesting from “companies that profit from gross human rights violations and/or the occupation of Palestinian territories”.
- Sacramento State University divests $4.5 million from companies doing business with Israel.
- University of California Riverside agreed to disclose the list of companies in its investment portfolio. UCR’s School of Business has cut ties with exchange programs in Israel.
- April 29, 2022 – The Harvard Crimson‘s editorial board supports BDS and a free Palestine – Cambridge, Massachusetts
- Dec. 22, 2021 – NYU student council endorses BDS, and 11 other BDS resolutions passed across U.S. college campuses – National
- March 5, 2019 – In revote, Swarthmore College Student Government votes for divestment from companies supporting Israel’s occupation – Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
- Dec. 6, 2018 – NYU Student Government passes divestment resolution – New York, New York

Cultural Boycott
- Nov. 22, 2024 — After a local #NothingNobelAboutGenocide campaign, the Nobel Foundation did not invite Israel to the prize ceremony in Stockholm.
- Oct. 29, 2024 – The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) voted unanimously to remove bid from Israeli organization Aguda to host its next world conference and suspended Aguda’s membership.
- Oct. 28, 2024 – 5,500+ authors and publishing workers boycott Israeli cultural institutions
- Sept. 19, 2024 — 17 U.S. theater & Performance organizations endorse BDS, inspiring six more organizations to join them.
- August 2024 – Austin Pride committed to “exclude weapons manufacturers and unethical corporations” and “evaluate future sponsors based on BDS criteria.”
- June 27, 2024 – South by Southwest (SXSW) announces that the US army and weapons manufacturers will not sponsor SXSW 2025 after more than 80 artists withdrew in SXSW 2024.
- June 2024 – West Hollywood Pride Parade quietly ended its years-long streak of permitting the Israeli Consulate to have a float after local pressure. Local activists disrupted the parade with a “No Pride in Genocide” People’s march.
- May 2023 – Sam Smith cancels performance in Israel, effectively cancelling the second day of the two-day festival.

- July 1, 2024 – The Presbyterian Church’s general assembly votes to divest from bonds issued by Israel, Morocco, and Turkey, following the United Methodist Church’s divestment in April.
- June 23, 2024 — Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) votes 74% to call for an end to US military aid to Israel, an end to the genocide, and to join Apartheid Free Communities
- April 30, 2024 – The United Methodist Church General Conference votes to divest from bonds issued by Israel, Morocco, and Turkey due to those countries’ prolonged military occupation.
- Feb. 14, 2024 – The AME church calls for both a permanent ceasefire and a withdrawal of U.S. military funding and complicity from Israel’s genocide.
- July 13, 2018 – Episcopal Church votes to divest from Israel’s human rights abuses – International

- Oct. 10, 2024 – Dearborn, Michigan’s City Council voted unanimously to divest from Israel, blocking two funds from investing in companies that have provided Israel with “military technology that has facilitated attacks on Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and any other country.”
- Sep 2024 — Lucas County, Ohio pledges to not renew its $1.5 million in Israeli bonds.

Sanctions
- Sept. 18, 2024 – The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted for imposing sanctions on Israel. The U.S. was the only major western country that voted against it.
- Sept. 2, 2024 – UK suspends 30 of its 350 arms exports to Israel.
- July 2024 – The International Court of Justice has declared that Israel’s illegal military occupation must end. Under the ruling, all states have an obligation “not to render aid or assistance in maintaining the situation created by” the occupation.
- June 8, 2024 – Colombia suspends coal exports until “the genocide stops”.
- June 6, 2024 – The NAACP, one of the country’s oldest and largest civil rights organizations, has urged Biden to halt U.S. weapons to Israel.
- April 5, 2024 – The UN Human Rights Council passed a non-binding resolution demanding a halt to arms sales to Israel, of which the U.S. has been the biggest supplier.
- March 19, 2024 – While Israel attempts to assure the Biden administration that it’s using U.S. weapons without violating international law, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam have called out this obvious lie. The two organizations urge the U.S. to stop all weapons transfers to Israel.
- Feb. 1, 2024 – Biden has issued an executive order to impose sanctions against Israeli settlers for attacking Palestinians, following settlers killing a Palestinian-American teenager and using Israel’s genocide in Gaza to forcibly displace and attack Palestinians in the West Bank. The U.S. must stop arming Israel and hold the Israeli regime accountable, period.
