Tell the Democratic Party: Support Palestinian Rights!

This is outrageous! On June 24, the Democratic National Convention’s (DNC) platform drafting committee voted against an amendment calling on Israel to end its military occupation of Palestinian land and its illegal settlements.

That’s right. The DNC voted against the policy goals of both the Obama AND Bush administrations.

Fortunately, there’s still time to overturn this vote. The DNC’s full platform committee will be meeting in Orlando on Friday and Saturday and they’ll have an opportunity to vote again on this language.

Just as we did for the June 24th meeting in St. Louis, we’ll be mobilizing for this meeting in Orlando to show the Democratic Party how much support exists for Palestinian rights.

We will be organizing educational events in both Philadelphia and Cleveland to stimulate this conversation. And we are also working with local groups in both cities to organize Palestine solidarity contingents at convention protests.
